"Potato" my cat.

This guitar was specially for my wife in memory of our cat, Potato. He was born in 2006 and at the age of 9, he joined us when we moved from Hong Kong to Taiwan. Like many Scottish Fold cats, Potato had a congenital heart condition. The vet said there was a high chance he might only live to be 3 or 4 years old. In October of last year(2021), he suddenly had a heart attack and left us, ending his 15-year journey. We are grateful for his companionship throughout these years.

After he passed away, to cope with our longing for him, we created many things in his memory. This included going through thousands of photos and videos of him stored in the computer, watching them over and over again. We then selected some to create wall art, pillows, keychains, and this guitar.

On the guitar, aside from the inlay of his image on the top, there are two circular designs at the bottom of the back. These designs are actually made from clumps of his fur. Anyone who has had a cat knows that cat fur tends to stick everywhere. To capture this aspect, I even added some of his fur during the finishing.
